Design Vision
Making art is a serious undertaking if one aims to do justice to the forces that lay at the root of one's creative expression.
My journey into sculpture began with a love of form, material, and the quiet discipline of making. With a background in industrial design, I’ve always been drawn to clean lines, precision, and the relationships between objects and space. Over time, my focus shifted from function to feeling—from designing products to creating contemplative sculptural works.
My current series explores geometric reliefs made from materials like aluminium, lucite, and wood. Influenced by, amongst others, the bauhaus movement and Japanese aesthetics, these pieces aim to distill complexity into clarity. I’m fascinated by the balance of order and intuition—how a simple line, angle, or shadow can change the emotional tone of a piece.
For me, sculpture is a way of slowing down, of offering a pause in a fast-moving world. Each work is a quiet inquiry into structure, rhythm, and perception. I hope the viewer finds space for reflection in the same way I do while making them.
