"Rene's recent series of wall-mounted geometric sculptures in association with Jasmax Architecture called elemental formations are vibrant and ethereal.

Constructed from aluminium, brass, lucite and textiles these evocative works reach beyond the material world in a balancing act characterised by both harmony and tension. Precisely executed using abstract geometric shapes the compositions nonetheless embody a subtle appreciation of mystery and the metaphysical, drawing on the Neo-Concrete and Zero art movements. With sensitivity to contrasts in materials, texture, shape and plane, paradoxical associations are energised in delicate balance."
